Ok I'm gonna be honest, but remember it's just an opinion. The new sign is VERY bright and colorful, but that's not all that's good about the changes. The best thing is that the Tiki Room is now drawing a full crowd with each show. The old room with Iago was empty or near empty every show. I have watched the Iago show with ONLY me in the audience. Most of the time there were no more than a dozen people, but now it's a full house. Stitch is very popular here in Japan.
The waiting area has had new Tikis added to give it a more Hawaiian feel. Notice the Surfboard shape and English names. One bad point and I feel a big mistake is in the waiting area there is no pre show like there used to be.
This used to be a waterfall that opened up with some AA birds giving a short introduction, now it stays closed.
As you are walking through the que area you see Stitch's footprints all over the place and just before you enter a large hole in the roof where Stitch has broken into the Tiki room.
(SORRY NO PICS ALLOWED INSIDE)
The show itself is cute and has some funny jokes, but unfortunately you will need to understand Japanese. The music is good and familiar to Japanese guests as it comes from last years Stich parade and celebration. The have done a nice job sequencing the music with the birds. The four main birds have been updated and had Hawaiian name changes. The Stitch AA is not bad and much better than the one that was in the Alien Attack Stitch attraction at WDW.
Now where did they go wrong. In the show they don't use the original song at all, Stitchs arm pops up several times in the flower pots, and imo the worst thing was putting Stitch ears on some of the birds. Also the show feels short and ends abruptly.
Walking around Adventureland itself you see other evidence of the changes.
I really didn't like those changes.
So to wrap it up there is some good and some bad about the new tiki room. Overall I knew it needed changing, but some things about it should have remained true to the original. Example --they could have easily incorporated the Original song.
