How do you feel after you've been taken? |

I recently had a pin trade go bad. I'm just wondering how anyone else feels if this has happened to them. Are you leery to trade again? Was it no big
deal...it's just a pin?

Depends on the pin and in my situation the way the other trader handles it. I have had one where it was no big deal and then another when I felt like I was
called every name under the sun and then spit and stomped on (even thought nothing directly was said). I haven't made any really high end trades so if I
loose one out of the number of on line trades, I can deal with it. I was a little leary for a few days, but it wore off.

I've resigned myself to "things will happen and karma is a real pain in the keester". I've had a few trades go bad, but nothing that the Mods
and The US Postal Service couldn't remedy.
I can tell you that I have made decisions not to trade any longer (which lasted a few days and I was back in the saddle again). Again, these are short lived and after speaking to other pin traders who I've had positive experiences with I realized that the good far outweigh the bad. One thing I should stress is that I'm not afraid to take the bad trader to the US Postal Service for mail fraud. I hope you never have to do that, but in the instances where I had to, that missing pin came to me almost immediately and always with a very recent postmark...heck...I had one come back to me in the same envelope that I mailed theirs in and with Return To Sender hand written on the envelope. Needless to say, the envelope was opened, the pin I sent removed and the pin I was supposed to get was in there. I'll never understand why people do the things they do. I mean, I can understand if the post office loses a package...it happens, but to go into a trade knowing full well that you're going to go back on your agreement is just wrong. How long do these people think they can get away with it without getting caught, and is it worth it in the long run? ~* Noreen*~

When it happened to me I was also going through my divorce and had a lot on me. So the sick feeling I got could have come from a lot of things. However, I
don't trade a lot online anymore and I have to think that is part of the reason.

It's normal to feel upset and taken advantage of. However, by doing this, you are giving the person that took your pin all the power. You are letting this
person take from you something you enjoyed up to this moment. That's giving a person more credit than they deserve. (I hope I am explaining this right).
Don't let a person have all the power and ruin your fun. You can show this person yes, it's upsetting, but you are not going to rob me of the enjoyment
I was receiving up to now. I feel bad for people that don't comply with their trades. Clearly, they are missing something in their life, and feel taking
pins from others will help feel a void. It's frustrating and upsetting, but chalk it up and move on. There are far more nicer people in this hobby than
nasty people!

I agree with Donna. You can't let a trade go bad ruin your positive experiences.
As for pin trading, you just have to get back into the groove. You also have to be more careful, and realize that trading online has risks. I'm not talking about the post office losing items. I'm talking about our pin community. There's hundreds of thousands of pin traders from all over the world. We always assume the best but we don't always know who is really or completely honest. Believe in Pin Karma. What the person did was bad, and the karma will come back to bite him or her. Maybe not now, not tomorrow, but some time in the future it will come. I've seen plenty of pin karma return the "justice"!

Pin Karma is true. I posted something about a trade gone bad last week. But it actually turned out good, while the trade that had flaked was a great trade, I
ended up trading my pin for one of my HG. So in the end, I has happy that the first trade went south.

I agree with a lot of what's been said.
I've had trades go south that have made we want to just give up and I've had bad trades that really didn't bother me too much. I've had pins never arrive from traders that I truly believe were mailed, and pins I know that I've sent have been lost. (I actually had one arrive 3 months later. The other trader and I had resolved the issue and I sent him another pin. He ended up pulling another pin off my wants list and sending it to me.. so in the end it turned out great for the both of us, we both got two trades out of the deal.) I really believe in pin karma. It seems to me the positives definately outweigh the negatives, so I try not to let the down periods last too long. Jes "Simply Mad"

I also agree with much of what already has been said. Of course I've had trades go bad; however, considering how many trades I've made, I've had
very few problems. Of course it's upsetting, but you've got to remember that pin karma will even things out in the end. I would not let one or two bad
experiences ruin everything for me - especially if you enjoy pins and pin trading.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I've been trading online for several years now, and for the most part all have gone well. I guess I shouldn't let
one trade-gone-bad upset me.
I appreciate everyone's comments. Linda ![]() |

Well I could not answer this before now since I have only had a few trades and they have all been great.... but I am starting to worry a trade I was making has
gone bad now as I am not getting any emails or the pin after sending mine so it has me down. I know it is the chance you take trading online but it is still
quite upsetting to have people do things like that to you.
Sorry to hear you have had a bad trade. |
