Credit cards may have bounced, or there may have been other reasons why orders went unprocessed. That would be the most likely guess for me.
Either that or someone in IT screwed up and put a sold out item as available on the website. That's probably just as likely. It's their first time doing it, so a mistake like that could have happened.
You can check order status on the Disney website. If your total is zero (or excludes the amount of the set cost) then you're out of luck. That was updated within a couple of hours for me last week.
