As no-one had given me any references at the time, I agreed to send my pins first. Upon receipt, the other trader stated that he could not accept it as it is a scrapper.
Apparently, the backstamp seems incorrect and he is not happy with the "density" of the pin.
I traded for this pin with a cast member at WDW at the time those pins were current. To my knowledge, there were no scrappers around in those days and the Donald $10 was (still is) one of the hardest to find.
Scrappers of the pin may well have come later. But not then. It was way too scarce.
It just frustrates me when what I am absolutely certain is a genuine pin can be called into question. I trade for fun and the joy of collecting. Being made to feel like a fraud was never something I expected.
I don't blame the other trader. He is entitled to his opinion and if he is not comfortable, then he has every right to reject the pin.
Is there anyone out there who can give an indication of whether there are scrappers of this pin and how to tell the difference?
I am now reluctant to trade any pins whatsoever because my own belief in what I have counts for nothing.
