So "room hopping" is not just for pin trading? Do vendors for Disney merchandise set up in the rooms as well?

I'm going to have to miss the sale on Sunday, but would love to be able to shop if there are opportunities earlier in the week.

It's way more than pins. You will find all kinds of merchandise. People come from all over to attend this convention and a lot of them bring items to sell out of their rooms. You will find things at roomhopping that you won't fnd at the show and sale and vice versa;. You will find things at the show & sale that you won't find at roomhopping.

Wondering if any other vendor friends that have a room - would like to share with me (and of course I would pay for 1/2 the room)
or maybe we can get a group of traders together that can all pitch in and all use the room for trading and selling??

This will be my first time room hopping and I had a few questions. Am I better off going towards the end of the week or are there roughly the same amount of rooms open on Tuesday as there are on Friday? I am assuming everything is cash only? Is the Sunday sale event free or is there a door charge?

People will start opening their rooms on Tuesday and all the way through Saturday. Some people will be open all week, some will only be open a night or 2, while others will not open their room until Friday.

It's hard to say when the most rooms will be open at the same time.

Lots of people come to this to shop and it gets pretty crowded at times.

You will be fine on any night that you come. You might want to think about coming more than 1 night.

I forgot to respond to the other questions in your post:

It's mostly cash but some poeple will have internet access in their rooms so you can use PayPal.

The Show and Sale on Sunday is $6 unless you have a postcard that advertises the show & sale with a coupon for $1 off. I will have a stack of the postcards in my room

roomhopping starts today!!! Rooms will be open on most floors but a group of us are trying to get on the same floor. I will post an update later.

Please try to remember to keep the noise down in the hallways as there will be non-roomhoppers staying in the hotel and they get annoyed sometimes.
