No Pin Trading Nights in September? |
Lead | |
|
Hi, I just realized that neither Disneyland nor Disney World will be having a Pin trading night in September. Does anyone know why this is? Is it just their
break month for it?

Disney D23 is having a Convention Sep 11 - 13 or thereabouts. It will be at Anaheim Convention Center close to Disneyland. This makes more sense for no
PTN's than anything else. If I am wrong someone please correct me

There is supposed to be a dedicated pin trading area at the D23 Expo in September, so that will essentially be the PTN I guess.

Yeah, except you have to be a D23 member to be there, so it doesnt really help the rest of us. O.o

No - it's a public event open to anyone. You just get a discount in attending if you're a D23 member.

It was announced in the early D23 Expo promo material on the D23 website. I think they're looking to set it up as part of their Fan Pavilion/Collectors
Forum.
From their site: http://d23.disney.go.com/expo/pavilions.html From toys and figurines to pins and any other Disney memorabilia, the Fan Forums at the D23 Expo is destination No. 1 for any Disney enthusiast! 'Twas brillig! Jabberwocky

Really? I didn't know that. I've been told several times that the event is only for D23 members. That's nice to hear, then. I might go, depending
on how much it costs.

For all 4 days I seem to recall about $110 for general public and about $90 for D23 members

^ It's only $35 or so for a one day ticket - which is pretty comparable to what you'd pay for a day at Comic-Con. I think it's definitely going to
be worth checking out at least one day of the expo - between the keynote speakers, the movie screenings, the movie previews, the archive displays and a
dealers' room - it all sounds great to me! Of course, I'm a big ol' Disney geek!

I wouldn't know, I've never paid to attend comic con! *lol* I think for now I'll stick to PTN where I don't have to pay anything to attend :D
thanks for the information though, it does sound really cool! I'm sure it will be amazing, I just don't think I'll have that kind of money to burn.

echoharmony wrote:^ LOL Totally understand. I also know that as this is their 'inaugural' year for the expo, they'll have to shake the bugs out (just like any new convention), see what works and doesn't and how they can make it even better the next year! But I really am interested in seeing at least one of the keynote speakers... I just haven't decided which one! I hope they announce more of a schedule for the expo soon so I can figure out which day to go. Of course the Expo is in September, so they still have some time to figure it all out. As opposed to Comic-Con which is happening in four weeks and they still won't announce an official schedule for another two weeks even though membership to Comic-Con sold out months ago! there are some months where there have not been PTN's...since PTN isnt specifically a revenue generating event other meetings and functions get priority in
the ballrooms
