And just wondering, are the only pins you can't buy in the stores the online edition? I was wondering about their celebration edition, can I buy those in the stores?

Trading in the UK Disney Stores? |
Lead | |
|
I've just booked a one day visit to London, and I'm planning to go to the Disney Store, do I need to bring my pins with me? Do they wear lanyards
there?

Trading is a MUST thing to do at the Disney stores !
They have only been trading off lanyards for a few months and nearly every staff member loves it when you produce a lanyard ! You should keep a look out for the Cast pins they have, as the quality is excellent and well worth trying to get. If they are not showing their lanyard(s) off, ask when you get in, as sometimes they may have not been brought out from behind the desk. You will normally find a backing card behind the desk with what they currently have to offer but always ask if they have any older pins in the plastic container the pins are in, as I have found many older pins wanting a new home that way The on-line collection are not available and some of the limited editions may be sold out but you will be hopefully pleasantly surprised at the pins ! My trip to the Covent Garden store was great - Have fun ! Best regards Mark |

I didn't see the lanyard out, but when I said I wanted to buy pins the staff member told me right away that they were trading in the store now too. I told her I heard that and brought my lanyard. When I took it out of the bag we did a bit of chatting (I had came in just earlier that day from Germany and asked my friends who I was visiting if they could pick me up from the shopping mall after work because I wanted to come in and trade) and they got so excited. It sounded like they didn't do much trading, and I was their first foreign trader too. The staff member even called her colleague in the office to bring the second lanyard out and they pointed out the special pins to me as well. I got the Stitch giftbox pin that way. I know the usual rules apply, but I made sure to trade them the pins they got most enthusiastic about. I brough a broad selection of Hidden Mickeys and also a couple of LEs. The staff members really seemed to enjoy what they were doing and got a kick out of trading for Hidden Mickeys. I'll be off trading in London myself later in July, so we'll see how that goes. I'll make sure to wear the lanyard when I walk in.

Covent Garden and Bond Street do trading.
Where Bond Street is two floors, the Cast Member told me that there is a lanyard for each floor, which is cool

That's good to know about the two floors, thank you. It's been a while since I went to the Bond Street store.

Pin trading is still very hit and miss here in the UK, some stores are getting into it, whilst others have barely received their lanyards yet.
As for London, my best experiences have been in the Covent Garden store, so that's my recommendation. My favourite store so far though has to be the Cambridge venue, great CMs, very enthusiastic about everything to do with pins and pin trading ! I hope you enjoy your trip |
