It's Florida in June. Pack for Hot and Humid. And for rain. And don't forget the sunscreen, even on cloudy days!
And if you are not from the east coast, remember that the humidity will make it feel much hotter than you are used to. So pace yourself and drink lots of water or "sports drinks". |

I just checked the 10 day forecast.
Hot with a lot of chance for rain. MoP will be in the low 90s, with it feeling hotter. Buy cheap umbrellas/ponchos (Disney charges out the ears). This will be fun. -_- |

LOL - Yeah, Nicole!! And we will be in the big, metal building that was hot in September with the AC working overtime.
Don't think for one moment that has not been on some of our minds already. Gotta love living in a sub-tropical swamp!! LOL |

PinCrazy1, take everything everyone has said in this post to heart. You will not be prepared for our humidity, and I speak as a transplanted Californian who
has lived most of my life in Florida. Stay hydrated, stay out of the hottest part of the day. Unfortunately, the building where the pin event takes place is
as E-beth described it -- a big metal building with air conditioners that struggle to keep up in September. So it is going to be hot in that building.
Might even buy one of those little fans with the water bottle attached. Those are great! spaceranger

Wow. Thanks, Cody. We are at about 100, but we are north of you.
Seriously, for all the folks from the West Coast who are coming over here please remember that our humidity will make it worse than you are used to. Temperatures will feel 10 to 15 degrees higher than the same temp on your coast. Stay well hydrated and don't push yourselves. I'd also like to take a moment in this thread to salute the amazing men and women of Reedy Creek Emergency Services. They are fabulous and they are undoubtedly having a busy week (or two)! |

Speaking as a news producer... never trust a forecast more than 3 days out.
That being said... Right now according to the guys in the weather office, rain chances are up and heat come down, but never count out the humidity. Also, in
Florida, rain does NOT cool things down, or bring down the humidity, in the summer. Welcome to the tropics. Bring hats, sunglasses, light-colored clothes and
my suggestion would be a stop in Japan to pick up their panel fans. They are relatively cheap ($4) and they'll write your name on them in Japanese.
And if you're going to buy one of those spray bottle fans, get them outside the parks, somewhere where they are not $17 a bottle. And bring batteries because those fans can run out of power.

It's florida, it's unpredictable. It is hot & it will rain. Usually sporadic that doesn't last that long.

Having moved from SoCal to the South, what everyone is saying is correct...hot, humid and afternoon thunderstorms should be expected. High humidity means your
body can't cool itself by sweating. Having just repeated what others have said, here are hopefully a few new tips and some repeats of some mentioned:
Pay attention to more that just tshirt or shorts...especially shirts. When packing t-shirts, don't pack the thick ones, pack the thin ones or "wicking" ones. This is true for most everything. If you like to wear polos, try to bring something like golf ones that cool better; if you are bringing a hat to wear, don't bring a wool baseball cap, they are just too warm and will make you really hot; bring light colors, especially for shirts. The sun seems more intense than it is in SoCal; bring more than one pair of shoes; For the afternoon rain storms, bring either a poncho or an anorak from someone like LL Bean. Both fold compactly, but my dw and I like anoracks because they tend to vent better than panchos. I second, third, or whatever the water. Because of the prices and ease of finding soda vs. water, it is easy to try to not hydrate as much as you should. If you can, stop by CVS or Walmart and buy a pack of water. Figure 3-4 bottles per person per day. Enjoy MOP, I wish I was going. Jeff

Monday Morning 6:30 am June 22
Air Temp outside is 81% with 94% humidity Todays Forecast Partly cloudy early followed by scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. A few storms may be severe. Heat index near 110F. High 99F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%. Its hot out there be careful and please Keep Hydrated. This is going to be my 4th pin convention here and yes, i get so wrapped up in jumping back in the trade board lines that I forget to stop and get some of the free ice water that they have around the showplace floor. Epcot opens at 9 am and the line to get in the showplace is a killer in the sun. ![]()

A few days ago it was pouring (and we were in line for Splash Mountain go figure) and my sons had one of those cheap ponchos so we put them on and his arm
ripped a hole throug the neck part. Only $1 but now nothing covered him. Disneys ponchos are $6.50, but the poncho is sturdy.

Hi All,
Yes the showplace is between Canada and the UK. The point about light colored, lite wieht clothing & hats is wise I will throw in my two cents on the heat & humidity as well: 1. Hydrate before you need it and keep drinking all day. Drink a bottle of water before getting to the parks in the morning. Back off of the caffeinated sugar drinks. We will refill the water bottles all day long at drinking fountains (the tap water isn't all that bad). 2. Do not forget to eat. Eventhough the heat and excitement may curb your hunger, you need to keep eating or snacking all through the day. We carry protein or granola bars with us. This message is brought to you by a native of Southern California who has lived in Las Vegas and for the past 9 years in North Carolina. Although I do not have a medical background and never even played a Doctor on TV, my daughter is a Type 1 Diabetic and we go to WDW when ever we can no matter what the weather is. See you all at MOP, Brian |

My 2 cents even though I can't go this year . . .
There are a couple of areas in the trading areas where the big vents pour out cold air. A couple of minutes under one of them and you won't be hot. The lines for the boards can get a little hot, but take a break when you need one. Tempers tend to get short when people are hot and tired. If you buy one of those water bottles with a fan that spray's water DO NOT give them to kids that will be in a crowded area. I'm really tired of being sprayed just because I happen to be within several feet of a child with one of those bottles. And if you bring an umbrella, be careful using them. I've been poked and prodded and almost impaled by careless people. And even though it's been said over and over . . . drink lots of water and stay out of the hot sun whenever possible. Oh, and most importantly . . . HAVE FUN!!!
