Went trading again in Norwich, this time no cast or uniform Pins but loads of core uk pins, some we didn't have so we traded for them and my daughter got
another chip and dale pin so was really pleased.

When I went Norwich they said that they wasnt allowed to have pins on the lanyard that they sold in the store, have they changed the rules?

Must have done because i got the Dalmation core pin, Minnie Core Pin. Plus my daughter got the Stitch hula one. All still being sold in store. Plus they had
the grumpy one, Wall-e one and Bolt one on the lanyards. We traded at Norwich 2 weeks ago and there was no core pins on then, Plus i noticed that all the pins
that we traded 2 weeks ago was all gone so there must be a few traders about.

Went to Bond Street yesterday...they have two lanyards floating around, one for up stairs and one for downstairs.
There was no cast exclusives on there though. And I didnt get a chance to see the upstairs lanyards as it was crowded with American tourists :P English Pin Trader

Went to the Birmingham Bullring store and was disapointed, no-one in store was wearing a lanyard. I went and asked and the first girl looked blank at me, had
to ask someone else who then asked someone else where the lanyard was. She went out back and came back with one lanyard only, no mention of any others. The
pins on the lanyard was all core pins and several doubles on the lanyard, we made two trades for pins we already had but i already have a trade set up for them
so i suppose it wasn't that bad. The girl seemed friendly but didn't really have a clue about the pins or how to trade.

I was in the Milton Keynes store Thursday afternoon.
No lanyards out. But when I told the cashier I wanted to buy pins she told me right away that they were trading in the store now too. I said: "That's cool, I brought my lanyard." took it out and she got all excited. Even called her colleague to bring the second lanyard out from the office. The second lanyard was all core pins and a rather nice Tigger pin. The first one did have some Paris pins, the A Bug's Life LE pin that some have reported seeing in other stores and... the Stitch Gift Box pin. The girls were even sweet enough to point out the Stitch one to me saying that this was a rare pin. Probably they hadn't noticed that my jaw had dropped to the floor the second I saw Stitch. LOL I traded for one of the Paris pins and Stitch and then for Tigger when the second girl got excited over one of my chess pins and I wanted her to have it. They seemed really excited about trading and I'll probably send my friends in town over to trade with them again.

When I went into my local store the other day I asked about if they have any of the cast pins, and esp Stitch, im still looking for him. And she was saying to
the other cashier that one of the cast members had taken that one. It seems as soon as they come in, the cast members take them straight away

trading

From what I've read in this ongoing thread, UK pin trading is very hit and miss but, to be honest, it's to be expected with something so new, and to be
honest it's an extended experiment for Disney still.
However, it would help if the stores were all consistent, some haven't got pin boards, some have , some CM's wear lanyards, some don't, it all seems very vague, something I'm suprised at, having seen Disney's expertice first hand in the States, having said that, maybe it's a differnet group of people responsible for pin activites over here in the UK. My own experiences have varied, having visited 3 stores, Oxford Street in London, Covent Garden and the Cambridge stores. Of the 3, it's a close call between Covent Garden and Cambridge, but for sheer enthusiasm and presentation, Cambridge gets it for me. |
