They are the keys. I can't grab a link now, but if you go to the main MoP page, and scroll to the bottom, there's a PWP pdf file that has all the
information.
As for the gift shop... there's not even t-shirts? That's a shame. Seems to me to be a great job to get more money out of us.... Sorry... it's my first event, and I'll have my merchandise card from my birthday to blow on stuff.
Anyone interested in getting
together and having dinner at Wolfgang Puck's during MoP? Send me a yuku message.

MOP Price Decrease | ||
|
It's simple: WDW looked at the RSP's, saw that the individual pins didn't sell too well & decided to lower the price to stimulate sales on the
4th RSP and at the "Museum Store". They wouldn't drop the price before the RSP was run (why discount if you don't have to) but needed to do
it before the Event starts so that all the people who bought via the RSP process would not riot when the prices were lowered. Event Services had WAY TOO MUCH
PTU Event merchandise left over and don't want the same problem this year.
Since they can't sell, put on lanyards, put on trade boards or sell at Cast Parties the PWP pins after the Event, I'm sure they will let anyone who comes close to the amount buy the pins. Better to sell them than throw them away. Just my opinion. See you there & TTFN, |

I called my parents as soon as I saw this post, because I know they tried to arrange my Mom's RSP so that it would have the best chance of qualifying for
all the GWP keys. While they appreciate the price decrease, they are worried that now they won't qualify. They hope that qualification of the keys will
be based on the original published prices of the pins, even though the final cost will be less.

stitchnitch wrote: We agree, we'd totally buy t-shirts and/or hats of the special pin events we attend. However, as Jim Matthews puts it, the 2002 EPCOT Search for Imagination Pin Event said it all for Disney. They released a gray t-shirt with the event logo with Figment on it and it was limited to 1,000. What happened? Hundreds of the shirts were sent to the Disney outlet stores after the event. It seemed that they lasted forever! They could not give these things away! It was so bad, we went to the outlet stores in June of 2003 on our vacation and still found the shirts...this time for .99 cents each! So, Jim jokingly states that that year was a learning experience for the Pin Team, "you pin traders just aren't into anything but pins!". lol But fast forward to last year's event, nearly everyone was wanting a PTU shirt that they were using as random gifts! Hopefully in the future they'll venture out again into pin event themed apparel and accessories. To eliminate 2002's problem, why couldn't they just do as they are with the Haunted Mansion 9/9/09 event shoes and RSVP the orders in advance to avoid a surplus? When we first heard about the pin decrease, we started getting worried. However after going through our list again, we realize we'd only be saving a whopping $10 thanks to the decreases. Not a big deal for us, as we always add filler pins to the bottom of our RSP just in case we miss out on something we thought we'd be awarded.

In past years the 4th RSP did NOT count for PWP pins....and even last year people who counted on getting larger items and missed them and didn't have
enough for the pwp...did not get them and last year they had a ton of merchandise left over, so go figure.
Luckily I had built in some extra for my rsp, just in case I didn't get my larger items....so I should still be OK. My must have of the pwp pin is the $450 one.....

This is itneresting it is obvious the RSP's were worrying to them also note the 250's have not come down in price! I am pleased but then my RSP is
always a big one I did think theyb were over priced anyway

Actually a couple of LE 250's from my list did come down in price. The Stitch Sphinx and Figment Thinking went from $16.95 to $15.95. Not that they
aren't still way overpriced! I think that they had so many framed sets with different combinations of the same pins.....that the more people ordered them
in the framed sets (to get completer pins) and got more than one of the same (in the frames) and that reduced the number of individuals purchased. That plus an
overall decrease in attendance and spending due to the economy..... I know that I thought twice about larger priced purchases this time. I still requested them
LOL...but I did think harder about it :0)

There were definitely other pin sets I'd have considered if I wasn't worried about spending the money. And I know my mom went for the framed set she
got because she was buying a bunch of the pins anyway.

I think $1.00 per pin decrease is nice but, did anybody notice the $40.00 price drop on the Figment Super Jumbo? I wonder what that is about. Is the pin
going to be smaller or is the packaging going to be simpler? Any thoughts?

It dropped price a while ago. I can't remember if I saw it at PTN or not. I didn't get to the preview table in May, so I know I didn't see it then.
