When the pin carts/boards were first introduced for the 2005 Legend of Golden Pins summer, we made several vacations to Disneyland and spent everyday going to each board, each day. Not being locals, we were thrilled to trade for the AP pins, not because we collect AP pins, but because these pins were mostly Limited Editions that had long been sold out way before our Disneyland trips! Yes, we could've bought these on Ebay probably just the same, but we just don't see the fun in that. For us, the hunt is worth more.

The reason why the carts "might" not be done this summer, we believe, is mainly because of the Disney cutbacks. Even though it sounds so simple, it does take up quite a few cast members time to supply and run these boards - especially with the loss of the CA "pin team". With Disney laying off and consolidating, this we think is the main reason for this possible decision.

Secondly, when the boards began to get more established and the regular locals started routinely dropping by the parks and DTD just to come to the start of the boards (which at the time we were there on vacations in 2005-2006, people started lining up only 2 hours before the boards opened - ourselves included!) we were noticing a growing amount of the same locals who continually started stirring up trouble by harassing and yelling at the cast members when the carts and Come Out And Trade didn't quite start right on time. So that - not the fact that people were lining up early - seemed to be the biggest problem at the time. However, even if people are lining up waaayyy early before the boards open, we just say "all the more power to you!". If people want to spend their time waiting in line for a chance for some possibly good pins, than go for it! Just because we choose not to doesn't mean we should spoil it for them or that we're right and they're wrong for it. Who are we to tell them what to do and how to spend their time? Yes, we can see where some may be upset because they see people waiting in line hours before they choose to arrive, but if it's really that important for them, than they should do something about it - arrive early like them. Or maybe better yet, just get in line whenever you've already planned to arrive and just hope that the cart is refreshed when your turn is next! LOL That's what we do! If we're meant to get a pin, we'll get it. Y'know, que sera sera...

Some of us choose to get up and wait in line at 1 a.m. to buy LE Haunted Mansion frame sets and pins and some of us decide to wait hours in line to get a chance to trade for AP pins on the boards. There's really no difference...
