Another one done!
The background is a Virtual Magic Kingdom online game (which is now closed
....we miss you VMK!!) screen for Captain Blackheart's Pirate Treehouse Room.
(Thank goodness we took screenshots of all the VMK rooms before it closed!)
The frame we bought at a garage sale on Thursday and it has a companion that will be joining the pin frame family in a day or two.
When looking through our pins for the next to frame, we saw this set and knew exactly which background photo to use and where all the pins were going to go! Minnie had to be "walking the plank" (love the expression on her face!), Mickey would be at the helm (where else?), Pluto would be at Mickey's side, and Donald would go in the crow's nest.
But when all was going well, tragedy struck! How was Donald going to go "in" the crow's nest??! Placing the pin on the crow's nest would look like Donald was floating in front of the railing! We were thinking of ways to fix it, and then...EUREKA! Pop-Up Dots!! We printed out another photo of just the crow's nest area and cut out the crow's nest itself. Then we took an X-acto knife and cut out the railing. We placed Pop-Up Dots on the back of the railing and placed it exactly over the original photo...
Here are some of our "rough drafts", perhaps the photos can help us explain the process... LOL
And after numerous (...and we mean numerous!) attempts, we finally got it perfect...
