I just started collecting pins last month and i ordered a large HOLOGRAPHIC TRADING ALBUM from disneypins.com, but before i know it, i am running out of space and i can not find any refill pages no matter where i look. i would like to know how do you (veterans) organize so many pins? perhaps i am doing it the wrong way?Please HELP!!! Thanks.

There is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to organise pins, IMO. You can group them by origin (DLR, WDW, WDI, etc.), character, theme, edition size,
or just wherever there's a blank space where a pin might fit. And when you run out of space and can't find refill pages, well, that's your cue to
buy another trading album ... hehehe. Sometimes it just happens where, no matter how well-organised your pins are, you'll just end up with more pins than
you've got space to keep them and you have to expand to a second (third, fourth, fifth, you get the idea) trading book.

At the very least, organize your pins so you can view them. Some like large pin boards, some prefer framing pins, and some just put them in books. I used to
keep mine in a random case and would pull them out once in a while to view them. I quickly decided that buying a pin book was a much better way to enjoy them.
From there I just orgainzed them into themes, but even then a few of my pins can easily fit in multiple categories.

My friend that got me addicted to collecting has his organized (somewhat) by theme, but he buys a pin book for each theme (somewhat). He's really into
Pirates of the Carribean and found a pin book that looks like an old book you'd find from that era.. He also got the Jack Skellington bag for his Nightmare
Before Christmas pins. He still sticks some in randomly but made it fun by matching the theme to the different books that Disney offers...
Just an idea I snagged from a veteran since I'm still new at this

I have my pins out on pin boards so I can enjoy looking at them all the time.
The boards are split a couple of different ways - several boards are for just
one character per board. I have another board for just big pins and another for the jumbo pins. And finally I have a board for mixed pins where 'my'
characters are mixed with other Disney characters.
As Stefanie said - there's no right or wrong way to organize your pins - it's just however you like to have them.

Is there a way to organize them into books or similar to books where you don't have to pull them out of drawers to view them but flip through them--yet
also have it in its original packaging without damaging it?

^ One of my pin trade bags is actually a scrapbooking bag - it has little individual zippered see-through compartments which is where I keep pins in their
original packaging - card, plastic bag and all. I was lucky to stumble across the bag at a craft store and haven't been able to find another since - argh!
But I'm looking!

Thank you so much for all the ideas and suggestions, i guess i'll just keep buying these album, because i really like the fact that i can just flip thru it
and enjoy my pins...it is a little easier for me to organize them for now, because i collect strictly Stitch pins. i couldn't believe i am buying stitch
pins left and right, hopefully i will be a little more picky once i have all the common stitch pins. i just couldn't believe i've spent over $500 in
less than 3 weeks, maybe that's not alot to some people, but that's more than my budget for a month. I know i am addicted and i need
counseling.............

organised into hm pins, the oe pins then le pins. i also have 4 binders with baseball card holders for pins, 1 is disney shopping, one is soda fountain and
wdi, one is wdw, paris and japan pins the other is all dlr le pins. yup lots of traders! but i love those pins!

I like the baseball card holders for my traders.
I find it easier for travelling and for finding the pins for posting. I have my traders sorted by parks and by LE and non LE I have keepers in frames and on corkboards. |

I use albums for mine and like nicki have basball card holders for trading although I am finding myself going to buy a new bag for my DLRP PTN trader pins I
think it might be safer
