In that case, Kay, I know EXACTLY who I'm going to blame, especially since this person fits ALL of your criteria: this person was there that night, probably was responsible for starting it, and no longer is around.

Maybe I'm explaining this badly, but I just don't remember how exactly we got into the candy throwing. I mean, what comment(s) or action(s) (for lack of better terms) made one of us look at the candy and think throwing it would be a good idea?

That's the problem, Kay - I can't quite remember how it got started either. I seem to remember this person was the only one who actually TRIED one of those gummy hot dogs - not surprisingly, this person said they were disgusting. I think we thought this person was crazy for even trying them, so of course, this person started collecting them. Although why we thought giving them (throwing them to/at, depending on perspective) to this person in Cosmic Rays was a good idea, I'll never know, although I think we found it hilarious at the time ...

I think your suggestion that we were tossing candy in the hopes of regaining sanity (can one regain what one never had?) sounds like our type of brilliantly twisted logic and something we would do, and I definitely remember that candy was getting thrown in every direction in Cosmic Rays. That might have been the time when we decided that the gummy hot dogs were only good for throwing, but I'm pretty sure that we were tossing around other types of candy as well.

However, I think I now can take a pretty good guess about Buzz Lightyear and Haunted Mansion: having collected all the gummy hot dogs that we tossed over earlier that night, this person started throwing them at us during the attraction ... and considering the rest of the group, the natural reaction was to toss the candy right back. *shakes head* It's a wonder we weren't tossed out of the park that night.
