We just completed our first custom frame set. Yippee! We had so much fun on this project that now we've become obsessed with getting to continue on to another set!!
The first pins that came to mind that we wanted to frame was our Soda Pop Cap Pins. We've had these pins for 5 years, but we've always talked about ideas on framing them. (Of course, always with the famous last words: "someday...")
After searching for hours on the internet for photos of old-fashion glass soda bottles, we finally decided to do our own. We bought a case of Crush Grape Soda (in clear glass bottles) and food coloring and created each color of "soda" to match the description of the soda pop pin flavor. We took lots of photos, picked out the 3 that best matched each other, and printed them out on the computer. We purchased the frame at our local Goodwill store and the sheets of pink and yellow matting on sale at Hobby Lobby.
Here is the finished work: (The frame is actually silver but it looks black in the photos)
Hope you enjoy!
