Hey there Kash! I would love to have another pin meet!! I agree, the first one was a blast!! It seems like the
Saturday afternoon thing worked pretty well ... maybe Rob can confirm yes or no on that part.
I couldn't get over how quickly the time went by!!! I will definitely be there ON TIME, the next time lol! (My niece and nephew will just have to move quicker, lol!) Let me know if there's something I can do to help out ... maybe we could organize a pin grab bag thingy ... ya know, you put in a pin (of a certain type such as an LE 3000 or less), you're given a number or maybe you draw for numbers and then you get to pick out of the hat the pin in the order of the number you drew ... oh and the pins would be in little baggies or something to kind of mask them so it's a true "grab bag" type of thing. (This would all be a voluntary type of thing ... if you don't want to participate, you don't have to.) Hmmm, I may not be explaining this very well, so email me for more info if you like. Ciro's again if you like. We had a blast! I think the grab bag is a GREAT idea!

lol! I'll put together some directions and then we can post them as part of our next pin meet notice. Hmmm ... this is FUN! I'm already
"dreaming" up other ideas for future meets! And thank you Kash for keeping me in mind when you get your DS Stitch set!!! I hope we can trade!!!
Hey Rob, quick question ... do you think we could start our pin meet around 11:30 am??? I realize from our first meet at Ciro's that we were pushing the 5:00 pm stop time ... so I was thinking if we started at 11:30 am and went to 4:30 pm we'd still get 5 hours in and hopefully give the restaurant a 30 minute "clean up" time. What do you think??? And what about the rest of our NorCal pin group?? Your thoughts, ideas and suggestions are highly desirable and appreciated!! Wishing everyone a great week! i most likely wont be able to be there again, BUT i thought of maybe some half idea you could dabble in. you could do a white elephant type exchange just
random pins wrapped up each person who wants to enter a pin gets handed a random pin later from that white elephant pile. kinda like the bag thingy but doesnt
have to be LE it could be anything under the sun.
you could do a theme meet (not necessarily this time, but an idea for future meets) kinda like bunco if youve heard of it, they do theme bunco nights and hand out prizes to people who win certain aspects of the game relating to that theme. they also make the food related to the theme. in a meet case you could do a pin trivia game, a name that pin game or other things like that and each winner could get a pin related to the theme of the meet. of course in bunco everyone offeres a small amount of money in order to get those prizes. people could donate money so the person in charge of this part of the meet can buy pins relating to the theme, or people could donate pins as prizes relating to the theme. as far as getting to know other traders goes since this meet is just being started as a regular meet, you could do what they do in college. make a list of things random thing like find a person who collects HM, a person who drove more than 2 hours, a person who has been to WDW, person who has never had a mickey pop ice cream, you know random stuff and u have to go ask people and find out and meet them and get them to sign your paper. its a fun exercise to make people get to know each other fast since you only have like 10 minutes to do the whole sheet :P just some ideas......

I have to echo what Alicia said. If it is the 6th or 13th, I will have to take a pass. Otherwise, I am happy to join everyone. I really enjoyed meeting new
people and reconnecting with old friends.
One other idea that I thought could be fun is to run a trade board. Just take a random board of pins and let everyone trade two pins from it. It does not have to be a board of all low LEs, but maybe cm lanyard, rack pins and possibly some LEs. People could volunteer pins to start it...and try to refresh it after each meet...I know the Bay Area group used to do that when I first started...Anyway, it's just an idea. |
