My Rick and I are finally going to see New York City. I have wanted to go since high school. We are going the first week on Nov for maybe 6 days. I looked up some hotels on expedia and they seem very expensive in Manhattan. All it needs to be is a decent quiet hotel room with a bathroom(some of the cheapest hotels had shared bathrooms-No way!) in taxi or subway range of an airport(one of the 2) and all the touristy stuff. Any recommendations?
We want to see The Statue Of Liberty/Ellis Island, Times Square, Empire State Bldg, Chrysler Bldg, Central Park, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Coney Island(Nathan's Hot dogs), Yankee Stadium(will be off season- I know), Metropolitan Museum Of Art, take a Circle Line cruise, Brooklyn Bridge, see a Broadway play that hasn't been to LA yet, The Guggenheim Museum, Radio City Music Hall, CBGB's, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, NY Disney Store, and maybe Flushing Meadow(where the worlds Fairs were). I would LOVE to see a taping of Martha if at all possible. I just don't know where I'd dump Rick for a few hours. And too bad we will probably be leaving on Sat because I'd love to see a taping of Saturday Night Live(to meet Don Pardo!).
What I've found is The Met is closed on Mondays. Brooklyn Bot Gdn is free on Tuesdays. Circle Line cruise for 3 hrs is $31.
Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
Aprille :-)
