Only cause it is you Kristi!
First name: Candace Location: Campbell, CA "Home Park:" DLR What you collect: Main - Tigger, Stitch and Cheshire; Secondary - Zero, Squirt, Baby Pegasus, and Sorcerer Pin that got you in to collecting: I honesty do not remember...I have been collecting Disney pins/buttons since I was a kid Why you collect and trade: At first, it was due to the memories that a pin/button would inspire. Then, it was because I wanted all the pins of the characters I collected, but nearly five years after I started trading, it is the people that I have met and the friendships I have made. Who/how did you get in to trading: I met this cute girl at DLR (Kellybean!), who happened to live in the bay area. She explained pin trading to me, and told me about Dizpins, PinPics, and the trading group in my area. Yes, I still love Kelly even though she got me started in this pinsainty of trading...lol! (I was blissfully ignorant of the thousands of pins that I did not own before that!) What impacts has trading made on your life: I have made so many new friends and met so many wonderful people that I would NEVER have had the chance to know if it weren't for this hobby. On the other side of the coin, I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars and driven myself slightly mad (lol) collecting small, shiny pieces of metal. |

First name: jj
Location: So. Cal. "Home Park:" DSF - okay, so maybe it's not a park, but I've probably spent more time there buying and trading pins than anywhere else! What you collect: anything having to do with Alice in Wonderland or the Tea Cup ride Pin that got you in to collecting: I think the first pin I ever bought was this one from the Disney Store: Pin 692: DS - Countdown to the Millennium Series #75 (Alice in Wonderland) But at the time I just considered it another addition to my general Wonderland collection rather than a sub-collection unto itself. It wasn't until the summer before last when I was looking for a Wonderland-themed souvenir from a trip to DLR that I saw one Wonderland pin... and then another... and then another... and went home that night with about eight Wonderland rack pins, that I realized I was hooked! Why you collect and trade: Pins are a sub-collection of my life-long Wonderland collection. I was aware of the Disney pin-trading hobby for several years before I finally jumped in - I avoided it for many years as I knew that if I ever got involved in it, I would be consumed by pin collecting 24/7. And I am.
Who/how did you get in to trading: I was at the park that fateful summer day... I'd bought up all the Wonderland rack pins I could find in the park stores, so I finally got up the nerve to approach a CM who had a small book of pins for trade. I asked her if she had any Wonderland pins - she gave me a knowing smile and said I would have to look through her book to find out. Inside the book I found this pin: Pin 2936: Lenticular Diva Pin - Queen of Hearts - and I was forever lost. What impacts has trading made on your life: It's pretty much taken up all of my free time - when I commit to a hobby, I commit wholeheartedly. I have spent many hours daily over the past almost two years looking through trades and wants lists, sending out offers, sending and receiving LBEs, talking and learning about pins. It really does take up a lot of hours daily. But I love every new addition I've made to my collection. And I've had some of the most amazing experiences with other traders - acts of kindness and generosity of spirit that I think are unmatched in any other hobby. I think Disney creates magic, but I think Disney fans pass it onward. 'Twas brillig! Jabberwocky
