The more I get into pins and finding new pins that I want and are harder to obtain, I'm curious to know what the best way is to obtain them. Being new, I
really don't have extra pins that are "worth" anything and that puts a stop to obtaining some of my wants.
So a couple questions:
Obviously this is to have a pin that is worth something to someone else. But how does one go about obtaining these "valuable" trader pins?
Do you find them off CM lanyards?
Do you trade up? (In the sense you start with one pin and trade it for another and so on until you have something that is worth the pin you're seeking.
But that sorta brings us back to the original question.)
Do you purchase lower edition pins?
Generally speaking, I only buy LE pins that I want. But is it wise to purchase other LE pins or multiple of the same pin in order to use as a trader?
Do you obtain these trader pins off of boards for example at PTNs or Events?
Now I know there probably isn't a definitive answer, and I know this post is long, but any general information would be extremely helpful. Especially considering the fact that PTU is coming up and although I won't be there myself, will miss it by a couple days, I'm toying with the idea of sponsoring someone. But for the couple of pins I want not sure it would be all that wise unless I could purchase some extras to use as traders.
