In approx 8 weeks, many of them will close After talking to my local store, out of 6 stores in the state of Connecticut, only one is remaining open. How sad that it has come to this.... My sympathies go out to all cast members who will be losing their jobs in this difficult economy. I wish them all the best of luck. My former store closed back in March and none of the management was able to transfer. Only very few regluar cast members were able to go to other stores. It was kind of ironic because at the time I was just about to see if they wanted me on for the summer. I just hope that my Nashua store doesn't close... but there are a ton of stores closing in that mall... I'm worried. Hope things work out for the best for them. Tough times out there! Andrew I'd bet West Hartford is the one remaining open. The only other one that would make sense to me, if it's still even open, is Waterford. On the flip side I feel this is a good move for Disney. They need to make the stores more of a destination. I remember back in the early 90's making a trip to the DS was an event even though it was only 20 minutes away. Now if they bring back collectibles they will be making 2 good moves. We are sooooo sorry that some CM's will be loosing their jobs, the only thing that we can hope is on the brighter side - Disney is taking back control of their stores, it will hopefully show them that their are enough of us out here that matter and like Dom said, BRING BACK THE GALLERY STORES!!!!! and LE low edition pins with PTN's each Saturday morning maybe (just a side note) it will start bringing ALL OF US back to our local stores which will hopefully make Disney REOPEN stores and the CM's can have a chance to come HOME!!!!!!! The only store in So Cal that they'd been informed was closing, is the one in Moreno Valley *~Nessa~*

The Disney Stores over the past 5-8 years have become so diluted and filled with low quality junk. I'm looking forward to seeing what these changes will bring. Another thing to kee pin mind is, the degradation of the Disney Stores started WAY BEFORE The Children's Place took control. So Disney gaining back control of the stores by no means guarantees that things will improve back to the "good ol' days".
