I think I know the Tinkerbell "ride." Apparently, enough guests wondered why they couldn't get Tinkerbell's autograph that they're taking
a Skyway station and turning it into a Tinkerbell meet and greet.Something along the lines of wandering through a keyhole to talk to Tink.

a water park sound pretty cool cause it could be open the majority of the year here in CA, but i also like the idea of the 100 Acre Woods. Most importantly, i
like the idea of just having more parks at/around DLR. I dont like the idea of removing the CALIFORNIA from outside of DCA or the removal of the Golden Gate
bridge. i wonder if the can move them to somewhere inside the park. we'll see what happens.

From what I've read in the local newspapers:
A third park is being considered. No details except the location diagonal from the current DLR off of Katella DCA: The name is supposed to stay the same, but will more resemble Walt Disney's Hollywood era, presumably the 1920s and 30s...maybe even up to the 60s. The entire park entrance is to be redesigned. As mentioned in the post above, there will be a Cars land. There is also a Toy Story attraction being built (opening soon) by the CA Screamin'. There are plans for a Little Mermaid ride toward the end of the boardwalk, CA movie area. The Entrance is supposed to lead to a theater that will show a film about Walt. A Tink ride? All I've heard about is what's posted here. The meet and greet sounds likely. What else would they have and where else would they put it? *** Personally, I've come to enjoy DCA, but some revamping is a good thing. As long as they keep Soarin', Screamin', Mullholland, Rapids, and TOT, the rest is fair game. They are supposed to spend more on the revamp than they did on the entire original park. There is a certain sparseness in the park and more attractions would be nice. There are some areas of the park that are really dead and could use something fun. Wonder what else they will to to Disneyland. (the original park) |

the official word on DCA from the AP newsletter taken straight from the newsletter follows.
"Walt's California" is coming to Disney's California Adventure® Park Imagine being an ambitious young animator back in the roaring 1920s. Stepping from the steam train that carried you from your staid Midwest home, you find yourself standing in a sun-soaked paradise that promises to make all your dreams come true. That's the way it all began for Walt Disney, and soon it will be the way it begins for all of his Guests when they enter the re-imagined entry plaza inside Disney's California Adventure® Park. "The creative evolution of Disney's California Adventure® Park will connect Guests to Walt's own California adventure, and reflect the place that he found when he first arrived with a cardboard suitcase in his hand and a head full of dreams," says Jay Rasulo, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. Work on this multi-phase enhancement project has already begun, and it's expected that everything will be completed within the next five years. When it is, Guests will discover exciting new attractions and entertainment, unique shopping and dining opportunities-and even a whole new Land, where Cars rule! As they journey through the lushly landscaped Park, Guests will encounter a major new attraction based on the Disney animated classic The Little Mermaid. Nearby, an amazing nighttime spectacular will play out on the sparkling waters of Paradise Bay. And beneath the twists and turns of California Screamin', a life-sized, Audio-Animatronic® Mr. Potato Head will beckon you into Toy Story Mania!, a fun, new interactive attraction based on Disney•Pixar's Toy Story films. But perhaps the most impressive new feature will be the 12-acre Cars Land that recreates the town of Radiator Springs, complete with three amazing new attractions featuring Characters from the hit Disney•Pixar film. The good news is you won't have to wait long to start experiencing this magical transformation. It all kicks off this spring with the debut of the new Pixar Play Parade (see accompanying article), followed by the grand opening of Toy Story Mania! this summer. And, be sure to keep an eye out for a special Preview Center opening soon inside Disney's California Adventure® Park. There, you'll be able to take a look ahead to the Park's exciting future-and feel that sense of amazement Walt must have felt as he began his own California adventure! |

i imagine the park will operate as normal only with scaffolding and tarps hiding the construction work. also since the golden gate bridge was around when walt
first came to california it will still be in the park

So they're...going to take out of California Adventure all of the elements that make it seem reminiscent of California?No...they're going to take out the California sign in the plaza because they're expanding the park outward that way. They're going to make it more like early Hollywood when Walt arrived. Yes, they're going to change the Golden Gate bridge as part of that renovation (not remove it), it just won't be the Golden Gate bridge. Some of the facades in the front will change, and I'm sorry to say, the sun sculpture and the fountain will be removed, that area will basically be "the hub." Everything is still going to be the California theme, just different in the front. Toy Story Mania! is currently scheduled to open June 9, and Midway Mercantile (the store you will enter as you exit the ride) is currently scheduled to open on May 9. I have all this info directly from Disney's website (for CMs only), btw. No one (CMs) I have spoken to has heard anything about a Tinker Bell ride. Hannette |

Everything that I have heard is that the Golden Gate bridge will be removed. The "weenie" will be a recreation of the Carthy Circle Theater, which is
the theater that Snow White premiered at. The Walt Disney movie is supposedly not going to happen.

Hmm ... the planned improvements sound interesting and I'm certainly looking forward to Toy Story Mania (not to mention the Cars themed land in a few
years). I'm going to be optimitic that these changes will be awesome but withhold judgment until I've seen them for myself.
I do like the idea of a potential meet-and-greet with Tink - and if what Drew said turns out to be accurate, it sounds like Disney's already figured out a way to make the queue fit in with the theme. I've been hearing rumors of a water park for several years and I hope that it does happen. I can't help but hope that Disney decides to theme a water park off of Atlantica - how awesome would that be? Also, I love the idea of a 100 Acre Woods - that would be too cool! I'm hearing plenty of awesome ideas - if even half of them turn out to be true, I think these changes could turn out amazing. Stefanie

Directly from Al Lutz at Mice Age:
"Disneyland's new Tinker Bell "attraction" you've heard about from Ed Grier is actually just a remodeling of the Ariel's Grotto location near the Matterhorn. The new "Pixie Hollow" will be a photo meet n' greet for Tink and her new pixie pals with an attached merchandise cart, just in time for DVD sales this fall. More info to come in the next update. By the way, Ariel will be donning a dress and moving to the Princess Fantasy Faire while her lavish new ride gets built (including a new meet n' greet) for her in DCA" |
