We hadn't been to Disney in a while. We finally did the insane hit the parks and downtown in one day trip on Wednesday. Had to get my lithographs. I got myself two new pins (2008 passholder and a pirate pin I cannot find on pinpics.) I also actually (SHOCKED) traded a pin. One of the CMs on the ferry had a Hidden Mickey Rufus which I had to have.
My daughter on the other hand got pretty taken. I am really disappointed. We hit a pin stop first thing and stocked up. HOPING she'd keep a few (boy what do I know). She traded for a hidden micky Tink with one broken and one missing wing (um - why did that CM have a broken pin on? I am going to assume they didn't notice. I'm sad). She also got a mini Tink that I cannot find on pinpics (but doesn't look like it is very worthwhile)... AND she traded a hidden Mickey Scrooge pin for (gasp) a teddy bear pin that has two hidden Mickeys on it and doesn't seem to exist either. That time she was trading with a little kid and while I tried to discourage her by telling her it was HER PIN but that I WOULDN'T do it. . she did it anyway.
I did invest in the pin locks! Yay for me! I can now safely secure my pins (no instructions though - yikes!) and be happy that I can wear them.
I am going to also be taking off all my daughter's pins before we go back. What she gets on her lanyard that day is all she is allowed to trade with. No more retired hidden Mickey pins being traded for suspected scrappers and broken pins.
BUT we got our lithos and I am happy with that.
