Also depends on what older hidden mickey it is, but overall I would say the retired pin

HM's are maybe worth $10 at most when they are released on eBay, but after a full year of circulation they will have nowhere near the value any LE or
retired pin is.
On a happier note, if you like the trade presented... accept it . |

I would say whatever makes you happy and also the other trader. Also if it completes your collection then go for it.

I remember someone once said, regarding collectibles, that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That's a bit of advice that
I've always kept in mind, I figure it keeps my feet on the ground and my head from getting too big (well, my family does a lot of that, too). But I think
the others are correct: if it makes you happy, that's where the true value is. Good luck!

I look at the value of the pins, but the value of the memory attached. I only collect what I like and what jogs a great Disney memory.
Every year, Bert's Big Adventure takes a group of special needs kids and their families down to WDW. They pay for everything. They do this all
through donations.

I think the most valuable pin is the one you want the most! If you are just getting it as a trader then you should consider what you are trying to trade for.
Most people like to trade lanyard for lanyard and LE for LE. Some lanyard pins are very valuable on the secondary market but if you are not selling it then
what does it really matter. Some retired pins are wanted and harder to get than a new lanyard pin. If it were for my collection it would depend on the pin as I
collect lanyard pins and have many retired pins on my wants. There have been many times I have traded my only lanyard pin of any one kind to get something that
was made in 2002 or 2003 because you just do not see them everywhere anymore and I figure I can find the lanyard pin again fairly easily (especially if it is
an LE).
