Has anyone been to DCA trick-or-treat party |

Has anyone been to DCA trick-or-treat party? I am going on 10/10, and I was wondering what should I expect. Also will cast wear lanyards? I don't want to
bring pins to trade, and have no cast wear lanyards.

We have attended this event since it's began - it is a lot of fun! There is Halloween music piped throughout the park, fun
lighting and trick or treat stations set up to gather candy and/or healthy snacks such as carrots or sliced apples. Treat bags and maps are provided to
everyone who enters the park upon entering the gates.
I hope this helps! Have a great time! Jennifer

I went last year and I believe some cast members were wearing lanyards but not as many as you would see on a normal operating day. I did wear a lanyard when I
went but I was not in costume and this year I hope to be in costume so the lanyard and traders will stay at home. Probably.
The trick or treating was a blast. I walked out of the park with a bag full of candy. The carnival games on the midway were free as well and you won candy instead of the regular prizes. For the individual games the type of candy got better as you did better. For the group games I can't remember if everyone got candy or just the winner. Getting pictures with the villians was fun, like Jennsstuff said, most of them were hanging out near Golden Screams. It was cool to get pics with the villians as you don't always see them out on regular days. The guy they had as Jafar was awesome, very much in character the whole time, very funny. I'm not sure if they are doing the Golden Screens show but it was pretty lame so I won't be doing that again. Come to think of it, the show they have in there during the rest of the year is pretty lame as well. My GF, myself and two friends are also going on 10/10 this year. I would say, maybe we'll see you there but I don't' think we've met. Doug |

I went to the party last night and honestly didn't think it was worth the $...I went to the WDW Not So Scary Halloween Party and loved it. DCA not so much.
It was super crowded and the lines were really long. The WDW event wasn't crowded at all and we were able to jump on rides without waiting long at all. To
me the DCA party is mainly centered around Trick or Treating - we got a ton of candy!! The character calvacade was okay but nothing like the Halloween parade
at WDW which was awesome. No fireworks (we left early so I dont know if they did any after we left but I dont think so as we only left 30 minutes early). I
think it would be a lot better if they did it at Disneyland rather than DCA and had a parade and fireworks.....and limit the amount of people that can go. We
waited 30 minutes for the Monsters Inc ride! I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade but I personally was disappointed with it being my first one and
having been to the one at WDW. I just expected it to be much better......plus no one had lanyards (only saw a few with kid only lanyards). I wasnt there to
trade really but of course I brought some just in case....oh, and the carnival games were shut down as well as some of the rides.
my 2 cents..... |

I have been to both WDW MK MNSHP and DCAs MTOTP. I agree MNSSHP is more elaborate and provides more special entertainment and such over MTOTP at DCA.
However, if you look at the price points... MNSSHP = $49 presale, $59 day of event MTOTP = $29 (except for Halloween night - $37) I think for what you are paying between the two, you are getting your money's worth at each party.
