(You may have read in previous postings that we now carry exclusive and official Disney Trading Pins in two Super Targets in the Orlando market.) I appreciate the enthusiasm we have seen regarding these exclusive Disney Trading Pins. I was wondering if I could get your assistance in helping to grow our assortment of pins. I am looking to add new exclusive styles styles to our mix within the next couple of weeks. I am looking for your feedback on what type/style of pins you would like to see on the market. Specicifically, what Characters, Special Events, Styles, Poses, etc. you feel might be missing on the market. I will do my best to make your ideas happen! Who knows, you may even see your DREAM Pin at Target very soon! Thank you for your input and suggestions. BTW, we will be getting 4 exclusive styles of official Disney Pin trading lanyards with 4 different character medallions. Hopefully you will be seeing those in the not too distant future! We have had many discussions here in the past about "characters" which have been ignored or overlooked. Hopefully the members will give some good feedback here. Personally, I love and but then again, I am in Canada... In peace and harmony Bev who loves Friendship cannot be bought; you have to help make it. Not everything that we face can be changed, but nothing can be changed until we face it. The path to greatness is never easy or heavily travelled... but the journey is what legends are made of.

I can't wait to see what great thoughts and ideas are out there. I will update you all as well on some ideas I have in the works. Within the next two months we will also be adding our 'official' lanyards with 4 exclusive character medallions and a collector's pin case. I hope that you all are finding the value in the our oins and that you feel that I have set a fair retail. I worked for WDW for many years before coming to Target and I know how the parks' markups work. I am sure that now that I am hooked up with you experts in the Pin Biz I will be made aware of all of your thoughts and concerns! I am here to make your Disney Collecting experiencing as enjoyable as possible!!! Does anyone have any specific feedback on any of the 24 styles that we have now?

Well I realize that whatever character you produce it would be a mass release so obscure characters that I might enjoy myself might not be a big seller for Target. So that said...... I think the "main characters" such as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Tinkerbelle, Maleficent, Stitch would be the best bet. But I would place them in "hobby mode" perhaps Roller or Ice skates, Scuba diving, Gardening, Surfing, Stamp Collecting and things of that nature. This would give them a more broad appeal. Additionally I would suggest some "one time run" pins. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the like come to mind. Perhaps even a special "BORN TO SHOP" to give away/special price released on the day after Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday season. I understand you need great sell-through on the pins if the program is going to continue at target. Certainly a lower (read:cheaper than at the parks) price would draw interest as we are all always looking for inexpensive trader pins for cast lanyards. I think the most important part is that you NEVER reproduce a design once it has sold though. That would be just asking for trouble. Unlike most items sold at Target pins have a "collectable" feel to them. Should a design be available to anyone who, at any time wants to stop at target and grab one it will not be very desireable and I fear sell though of that design will suffer. THanks for asking for opinions and please do come back and visit and keep us updated! Could you tell me how many Target stores will carry the pins? Will it be rolling out to more stores ? I also have begun collecting some of the characters from the new Disney Faires line. I also avidly collect characters from some of Disney's quirkier movies like the Emporer's New Groove and Hercules. Also, as an educator, I love seeing pins that feature Disney Characters as historical figures or in historical events. I was just speaking with my Pin company about adding Ursula. I am trying to gear us up for the Little Mermaid 10th anniversary DVD release in October. I am also working on a pin to commemorate that event. Sometimes the wheels work a bit slowly getting Disney's approval but I am persistent if nothing else. BTW, we do have a Cruella pin. I am working on adding some Disney presence to the Target Store around Disneyland.

FYI, we only have the pins in two stores. I started with them in the Super Target Closest to WDW about four months ago and just added them to the Millenia Super Target 3 weeks ago. I love the idea of sell through to increase their value and the idea of tying them to specific dates -- like the "Born To Shop" idea for Black Friday! Keep the ideas coming! Don't worry about obscurity of characters....once I get approval from Disney on a design I can order the minimum number and see where it leads. To followup on another suggestion what areas (besides Florida) are you interested in seeing these pins? Someone inquired about the retail -- we are selling the pins for $4.99. You can get two for under $10.... I hope that this helps! Feel free to ask anything else Disney collectible that you might have in mind. I want to make sure that our "Disney Shops" have what you need!

I visit that mall at least once per month (more when there are school breaks) to visit the Disney Store and buy their pins. I always love to see new Tigger pins, but that is just me. I also think Halloween pins are a big seller. I know I personally love them along with Christmas pins. I just can't wait til the pins make their way into stores all across Florida - we are in North Florida and never think to stop in the Target in Orlando when we go to the parks. Now that we know where the pins are sold we may try stopping in on our next trip though. Thanks for the info and can't wait to see what else is in store for Target and Disney pins Another thought too is to come up with pins for any new movie that comes out. Pretty much any new Disney movie will attract buyers. There always seems to be a rush to get any opening day pins around the parks or open edition pins of the new characters. If Target could set it up to release pins or a pin set for new movie releases that may turn out to be a good seller for them. Lindsey

I was in Anaheim once, and checked a Super Target down there, but they didn't have any of these 24 pins you currently have. I have no idea how many targets are around nationwide.... lets just say 2000 ( I think there are MANY more) If each store was to get ONLY 100 pins that would help them sell out MUCH quicker! While the edition size would be larger than the parks they would be more evenly distributed that way and in a few short months they would become quite collectable. I see the BIG message here from the members seems to be ..MORE STORES! I think everyone here needs to try and to their best to support the two locations that are currently selling pins. Once it is a success there they can look at rolling out to the rest of Florida, California and perhaps New York? (Big Disney Store downtown there) I am thinking new movies and music come out on Tuesdays...so why not make Tuesday new pin day as well? That way we can all stop into Target on Tuesday to get our new movies and check out the new pin releases as well. As for Characters to do...besides my above post.... Since Obscure characters "may" be possible.... Emperor's New Groove James and The Giant Peach - Especially Miss Spider Julius (Mad Mickey from Runaway Brain Short) Behemoth from Nightmare Before Christmas (Blue guy with axe in his head) Haunted Mansion Ghosts for Halloween! Easter Bunny from Nightmare Before Christmas A "series" might be fun too..... Silent Disney Stars...(you know Characters that don't actually SPEAK or Speak much) Evenrude from Rescuers Maleficent's Raven Dopey Meeko from Pocahontas Fish Out Of Water Etc... Just a thought for you too.......check out PINPICS.com our sister site to see the Hundreds of Thousands of pins that have been released. Pay attention to Wanting/Trading.
