bringing adult drinks on board- a great tip |

I just read over at passporter a GREAT TIP!!! You are allowed to bring adult beverages on board BUT if you are flying you need to pack them in your packed luggage, so what to do??? WELL buy your beverage at home, where it is cheap and convenient and to keep it safe, double bag it and then pack it in a rubbermaid container, the size of a shoe box, using bubble wrap to keep it safe. Then if you have a hard sided suitcase, place it on the edge. Now you also have a way to bring home any fragile items you purchase while away!

Great tip Erica! Too bad I'm all packed and so don't want to take anything out. What's your room # again? I may be knocking on your door

Or buy them at a store in Florida and carry them on the ship. However, they will charge a fee to open it for you if you bring it to a meal. I think it is around $15 - $20.

Quote: lol, funny, but it wouldn't matter. For legal reasons, if you bring in your own alcohol, they have to charge you even if they never touch the bottle. So it wouldn't matter if your server opened the bottle and pulled out a rabbit, or if you just cracked it open yourself on the edge of the table. I'm not positive, I think it has something to do with not selling alcohol to minors (you know, b/c if they charge you, even if it's just a corking fee, then they can refuse to hand a glass of it to someone who hasn't reached the legal drinking age.) I'm also given to understand that's not an unusual behavior for a restaurant. We have several places in town that will let you bring in your own wine, but still charge a corking fee. Same reasons. And in their case, to partly make up a profit they would lose on not just selling you something they already had on hand. cheers! robin

Yes, but you can always drink it in your room . I packed a wine opener in my luggage and used the drinking glasses in the stateroom . Grumpy 1
I think I do remember pasengers bringing beer onto the ship in Nassau . I'm sure that you know that their are little fridges in your stateroom . August's trip will be my 2nd cruise this year . I got a fabulous group rate deal this time through MFL . I couldn't pass it up . ![]() |

I don't see why you couldn't bring beer onboard as well. The last one I was on I brought several bottles of wine, and I saw people bringing 12 packs
of sodas and such.
