There used to be one in Charlotte I think, but not sure if they still meet. Hopefully someone else will know.

i was just coming here to post the same thing.
i was talking to another local NC trader and we were thinking of getting a local pin meet going. I am in raleigh, and she is in cary NC. is there anyone else near the raleigh NC area who would be interested in a pin meet? gail |

Not right off hand. Debbie (KPFan) might know of some more people. I did not get to go to the Chapel Hill meet last year some I didn't get to meet any local traders.

Count me in for Charlotte!! Raleigh is not out of the question but not terribly easy for me. Winston-Salem or Greensboro might work.
Wonder if the Disney store in the mall would sponsor or get us some space in the mall. Conversely, we could meet at some place like Dave and Busters or a restaurant with a private room. We'd have to order something but we gotta eat at some point anyway so..... Charles Charlesu_photo@yahoo.com |

Oh I would love to get together. I have never been to a meet of any kind so this would be a lot of fun. I am in Sanford.. about an hour south of Raleigh.
Charlotte would be a bit far but Cary or someplace like that would be awesome!

I am moving to the south central part of Virginia and have a great contact at Fuddruckers Corp that can help setup a pin meet. Just need locations and dates
and I could help set something up. We have been holding pin meets in Chicago with Fudd's for almost 3 years and we have been a proven Revenue booster for
the location and all of this with them offering us a discount on all food and beverage purchases( yes even the bakery/cookies..). I have a regional and a Corp
contact so it shouldn't be an issue.
I am located up in Emporia, VA off I-95 (MM 11) and from there to Cary would be about 2 hours. Let me know.. Jeff |

hi all,
i was just tossing around some dates with lois, who started me thinking about doing a nc meet. how would the 2nd week of may work for everyone? which weekend day works best? we are flexible. a private room at a restaurant is one idea, however most have a minimum number of people required to book one. i am not sure we have the numbers to do that. another option is meeting at a local mall food court type place - indoors or outdoors, this worked, so i heard, for the san diego pin meet without a hitch. locally, i know triangle mall has outdoor area with umbrella tables. but all raleigh malls can get crazy busy on the weekends. the fuddrucker idea sounds great to me, from what i know there is only 1 fuddruckers in the raleigh area, up near capital and millbrook rd ( i think its millbrook) i have not seen another one. if this idea works for everyone, it might be our best choice, especially if they grant us the space, and it provides a bit more security then a public mall. discount on food would rock as well

Does anyone live close to these to go in and do a spot check to see what the space looks like and if it seems like it would be receptive to holding a pin meet there? If you check out the Windy City web site we have pictures of our Fudds and there is actually a section of the restaurant they reserve for us. We met an hour before they opened to the public and stayed until we were all tired of trading, usually 3 or 4 and in some rare cases stayed until they closed..lol.... I know malls have the space but with what I have been seeing in the area here they are very restrictive in most of the malls with the security being very watchful of any large groups congregating. Mall management can give the blessing but security can sometimes be very leary unless you meet with both groups when organizing a meet and give them a total run down of what your planning,how many people are coming and the bottom line is how much you plan to spend while in the mall. I tried to organize one and security was more worried about people coming in and selling stuff between each other which meant less spent on food or in a store. If there is a DS in the mall sometimes they can be the go between and explain the whole idea and process but with DS being a CP owned entity its hard to get any mgr from DS to even approach the idea with a Regional manager to get an official blessing to approach the mall management group. Either way looking forward to getting together and starting something on a regular basis. Jeff |

Are we looking at the weekend of the 31st of May? If so, I can make that but, I'll be out of town over the Memorial Day weekend. May I also suggest that we try to meet someplace nearer the center of the state? That way the peeps from the Charlotte, Greensboro and Winston-Salem area will be somewhat equidistant from those of us in the Raleigh/Cary area. If it is too far of a drive, some peeps won't be able to make it. A Fudrucker's sounds good to me if they have a group meeting room to accomodate us.

hi guys,
i can check out the raleigh fuddruckers, if that is where we chose, i dont live to far from it. i am ok with meeting up in a more central location, as well, how many people do we have coming from farther away? we could rotate around a bit, once we get the ball rolling. i would love to have recurring meets! i hope we can drum up some interest in this! Lee, what would be considered central to everyone? what were you thinking on that one? life is crazy for april and may for me, as my son is in tball AND hockey throw in that he has his violin recital, oh and we are traveling... yikes! i will try to help as much as possible to get this off the ground though. i should be able to make it in the later afternoons though. my friend in cary who is helping me with planning cant make may 30-31, i am out for the first 2 weekends in june, as we will be down at star wars weekends! ( if we end up doing the meet after, i can always scout for pins for everyone while i am down there
