How to find Scoop on Main Street:
For those of you who are new, and do not know,
Scoop Sanderson is a WDW Street Character that is in charge of Main Street's Newpaper. He has been active with pins, since they were introduced at WDW, and has extensive knowledge about them, and enjoys sharing that with Disney Guests.
Scoop, unfortunately, no longer has a regularly scheduled pin talk. Therefore, you kind of have to know when and where to look for him, and let him know you love pins. Here is what I have found out after asking around:
Mon. and Wed. are you best days to find him on Main Street.
Mon. :
8:45 a.m. He helps open the park.
Then you can usually find him at 9:45, 10:45, 11:45 and 12:45 on Main Street. (I think all Street Characters have 30 mins. on the street, and then 30 minutes backstage-it gets hot in those costumes, too!)
I have heard that at 9:45 & 10:45 he usually hangs out near where the Saxophone ensemble is performing (in front of the cinema or Town Square).
At 11:45 and 12:45, I have heard that he can be anywhere on Main Street, but is fond of riding the Trolley after the Castle show.
Wed.:
My friend told me that Scoop does pretty much the same thing on Weds, but there is an extra bit of time added at 1:45. (I don't think the Trolley is still running by then, so you could find him anywhere on Main Street.)
If you are a bit shy it may be a bit difficult for you, but if you let him know that you are learning about pins or enjoying Dizpins or mention a mutual pin pal's name, he is usually delighted to stop and chat or trade pins.
He doesn't always just hand out pins, so you can't expect that! But he often has pin games to play, and really just enjoys friendly, courteous people. He is great with children.
And if you have some interesting questions about pins, he has always seemed very happy to answer them.
Hope this helps!
Let me know if I can answer any more questions!!
If things change, I will do my best to let you know.
Here is a site that lists the times and appearances of all the WDW Street Characters...just select "Magic Kingdom" at the top, then scroll down to find who you want to find.

On Aug. 23rd, I discovered that the above site is not posting the Street Character's schedule at this time...so keep an eye on the site, and maybe they will be able to start up again. ~Carol
