Due to the recent rise in postage and other fees, I was wondering what the general consensus on re-using bubble mailers is? Do many of you reuse them, or
dispose of them and use a new one for each trade.
Do you reuse bubble mailers (Assuming they are in reasonable shape) (Result) |

I think re-using them whenever possible is the responsible thing to do environmentally. I re-use LBEs and I re-use bubble wrap. I sometimes even re-use LBEs
AS bubble wrap if they're not in good enough condition to be used as mailer envelopes again, and I've seen other folks do the same.
I've actually had the post office workers commend me for reusing envelopes instead of adding more usable materials to the trash heaps! Think of it this way - you're leaving less for Wall-E to have to clean up in a few hundred years. 'Twas brillig! Jabberwocky

So it is acceptable to other traders, or is it in violation of some terms of use?
I usually reuse them, but a recent trader got me thinking that certain mailers were to be used. |

I've never heard that it wasn't acceptable. I mean - you're trading pins, not LBEs!
So long as the bubbled envelopes are still... bubble-ful? LOL And I always make sure to black out previous 'To' and 'From' info for privacy's sake. I've been receiving (and using) recycled LBEs for pretty much as long as I've been trading - these past almost two years. 'Twas brillig! Jabberwocky

I see nothing wrong with reusing LBE's as long as they are still in good condition. Also make sure you can't read previous labels if you put new labels
over the to and from addresses. My post office has 2 very nosy ladies who are very nitpicky. They have told me numerous times if they can read writing under
the labels they return the packages to the sender. Arrggh. I guess because they get easily confused or way too bored. I am sure it has someone to do with some
obscure post office rule. Luckily that has never happened to me because I am always careful about removing previous labels but I have received a couple of
packages that I was surprised the post office ladies let through.

I agree with JJ entirely. I reuse my LBEs whenever possible, normally as bubble wrap or shredded as filler.

I agree that re-using LBEs is the responsible thing to do. Well, I guess you have to take into consideration the amount of tape used on them the first time.
Some of us LOVE tape!

I have never bought a bubble mailer. I ALWAYS reuse the LBEs that I receive. I got a bunch of old greeting card envelopes. I cut up the old LBEs and put them
inside envelopes. No problems.

I usually just use scraps of white computer paper to put over the old writing, and have had no problems to date. I guess my only concern is that the trader on
the other end will think down upon the reuse of the LBE.

I think this is a wondeful idea and like JJ said it is environmentally friendly!
