Each pouch will contain two (2) randomly assorted pins from a particular Hidden Mickey pin series. Magic Kingdom® Park - Hidden Mickey Mystery Pouch - Rubber Ducks Epcot® - Hidden Mickey Mystery Pouch - Disney Villains Disney's Hollywood Studios^TM - Hidden Mickey Mystery Pouch - Muppets Characters Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park - Hidden Mickey Mystery Pouch - Disney Bears Downtown Disney® Marketplace - Hidden Mickey Mystery Pouch - Disney Princesses Guests may also order these pins via Mail Order: Contact Walt Disney World® Merchandise Guest Services at 407-363-6200 or send an e-mail: wdw.mail.order@disneyworld.com to place an order. Introduced in 2002, the Hidden Mickey pin program contains specially designed pins featuring favorite Disney characters, shows, icons or attractions. These pins are used by Disney Cast Members for trading with Guests at Disney Parks and Resorts. So, what do you think???? I know we enjoy trading with the cast members and going on the hunt for the hidden mickey's we are missing in our collection. We also like putting EXCITING pins back on the cast members lanyards to hopefully let someone else have a exciting magical experience (Because that is also part of it, we think) The ONLY thing that I see as being a benefit to having to purchase (more pins to maybe get the one we are looking for) is that we feel a little better that they will not be scrappers and the real deal, but, we had to buy it on a chance that we might get what we need????? Dizpins Ohana Member Posts: 65 (05/04/08 04:08 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I'm not in the park as much as some, but when I am there I love finding and trading for HM pins on the CM lanyards. I like the fact that trading with CM's is the only way to get them (unless you're trading with other traders who have traded with CM's). Buying them just doesn't seem to be the way Disney intended pin collectors/traders to get them in the first place. I can see why they might be doing this (to try and elimate scrappers) but I seriously don't think I'll be purchasing the mystery pin pouches...it kind of makes it Pin BUYING and not Pin TRADING. ~* Noreen*~ My Wants My Traders

Well for starters I like that if you want to buy them you at least have to go to the different parks, that's a bonus. I also like that this will make the lanyards pins less of a hot item, it can be crazy when people sometimes think their lanyard pin is worth a low LE. This could hurt trading a little but I don't think that much because if you are going to be buying mystery packs some pins might still be harder to find... I'm not sure yet if this is a bad or a good, thing, I think it will help families who are new to trading finish up sets before they go home, and for the rest of us, I don't think it will have that big of an effect on trading... erica Have a Magical Day

Hidden Mickey Series pins are supposed to only be for Cast Lanyards, hence the original name of "Cast Lanyard Series." Half the fun is looking for them! And $10 seems pretty expensive for two Cast Lanyards. A shame that the pin team has decided to change their focus of providing a fun experience between the Cast Member and guest, the original purpose of the Cast Lanyard Series. I hope that the program isn't brought to California. Save Small World from the marketing department! Please do whatever you can. Use the signature or create a new one. Do not let Disney add characters to this iconic classic built upon the foundations of peace and hope in the world!

While I'm sure we all think $5 per pin is awfully expensive (since we're used to paying around half that), that is pretty much the precedent for their "cheap" pins (have there been any booster sets that sell for less than $5/pin? I don't think so). I really think as others have said that they are doing this as a direct response to the scrapper issue and I really can't fault them for it. If you are serious about authenticity it is very difficult to collect HM/CL pins, if not impossible. So for those who demand authenticity they can now have it, and for those who get frustrated because they never seem to find any pins on lanyards (honestly, I don't know how many of you find whole sets day of release) they can't bypass that as well. And the rest of us can continue to hunt. Disclaimer: lanyard pins are a very small part of my collection. Most of them just don't fit in my themes and I don't collect the sets themselves.

I agree! The theory in the past has been that unless you buy the pin from Disney you do not know if it is a scrapper or not. While I do not collect all HM pins there have been a few sets that I have picked up. I can say that after the AK event and seeing just how many scrappers there are on lanyards & pin boards I am afraid to trade for them. I will most likely never purchase these types of pins but I do have a full understanding of why the winds of change have come about. I do think that it will gradually diminsh the thrill of the HM series for new taders too. My Frames My Wants My Trades

They're not a huge part of my collection but we got a lot of the 2008 HM pins as we visited WDW for Christmas/New Years. Plus the extras we'll just use for trading this Christmas. I'm just glad knowing that if I purchase them this way, like someone posted previously, it isn't a scrapper.

Disney might be looking towards a profit now and thats not what Lanyard pins were made for. Shame. The thrill of the search for HM/Lanyard Pins is finding them and intereacting with the cast members.
