I try to make every attempt to go into the WOD NYC for pin trading on the first Saturday of the month from 10AM to noon to see the new pins that have come out and trade with friends. Trading is held on the third floor of the store, on a few tables that are set up for the traders, so you can't compare it to trading at the Contemporary in Florida or the ball rooms in California. The number of traders vary from maybe 10 to 50 on a real good day. It can get very crowded up on the third floor as the store is open to the public. The cast members are great and all wear lanyards or the hip traders. At a certain time during trading, cast members wearing pin vests laden with pins come out, and there are also several pin games. There are all types of traders, from youngsters looking for their favorite characters to seasoned traders with some very hard to find pins. I have never gone into the city without making a handful of trades, even if I will just use the pins as traders again. During the weekend, Disney characters are also available for photo opportunities, so all in all you can have a very nice time at the WOD NYC!! The next pin trading day is on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 10AM til noon!!
