Hi, hope I'm putting this in the right spot. I have some info to relate re the HM CM lanyard series pins. Sorry, I don't have any of the scrappers, but I have des.criptions of what they look like/how they differ from the real ones. These are Pinpics numbers 51775 (Ezra), 51776 (Phineas) and 51777 (Gus). Info comes from a CM who has seen one of them; according to a co-worker, they are being traded off to CM lanyards by a...

I'd read in several sites about scrappers and bootlegs.. it was enough to dim my excitement about my soon to be first lanyard. I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to swap at the rate I'd have to go memorizing differences and worrying if this pin or that pin looks different from the pictures because of the lighting, camera, etc..

IF I end up with a scrapper, and I find out, I won't be too upset,...

Thank you for this post!!!!!

My daughter and I are new traders; we just started in June on our first trip to WDW. When we came home from the trip, I was so excited to find DIZPINS and PinPics where we could keep trading, adding to our collection, and learning more about the hobby of pin trading. Then I started to read the threads about scrappers, etc and became very discouraged. This post really helped to put things into perspective; because for me the real fun of pin trading was...

Before you discard a scrapper, post a picture (hopefully with a legitimate pin beside it) on the pin comparison board. This is a good place to get real insight into how scrappers are different from the legitimate pins.

BTW, I have several scrapper pins in my collection. I don't intend to trade or sell them, but if my chances of getting a legitimate pin of that design are very low (1 person trading, 200 wanting), then if the pin looks in reasonable shape, I'll hang onto it.
