After a couple of years of "meaning" to do it, I recently began trading on PinPics. One of the trades I made concerned the WDW Cast Lanyard Donald $10 bill (original, not HM). As no-one had given me any references at the time, I agreed to send my pins first. Upon receipt, the other trader stated that he could not accept it as it is a scrapper.Apparently, the backstamp seems incorrect and he is not happy with the "density" of the pin.I traded for this pin with a cast member...

Newbie here so hello to everyone!

I just got one of these Donald pins and I'm guessing based on Joette and leblanc's comments that it is a fake. The backstamp has 2007 and it only has
China like the bottom right example instead of the Made in China. It definitely passes the eye test though.

You know it is really sad. I hate the thought of getting a scrapper. So I buy all my pins instead of trading. RARELY do I trade. When I trade - I do so because
I love that pin. My daughter is the one who is obsessed with the trading. I tell her to only trade with CMs. Really it is because she is very hyper and I
don't want her harrassing every person with a lanyard. The CMs just seem to enjoy her enthusiasm.
The LE Pins I pick up for trade - stay on the original backings. I keep...

I'm sorry to see all this happen. Since I see a lot of scrappers being dumped at WDW, I have gotten to the point where I will only trade for the lanyard series/hidden Mickeys (or whatever they are called..lol) when I see a manager take them out of the plastic bag and put them on a lanyard. I also will only trade these pins under the same conditions. I refuse to trade anything to a fellow pin trader if I even think it might be fake. Therefor my lanyard series trader pins are scarce, but they...

Hi Joette - many thanks.

No, there were no specifics given regarding the backstamp, just that it did not accord with PinPics and the pin he already had. My own version of this pin, which I am utterly certain is legitimate, has a 2005 backstamp, but it is very difficult indeed to be certain with the naked eye.

I will wait and see when the pin comes back. I examined it very closely before it was traded and, to my mind, it was fine. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe I did trade for it in...
