Hi, my name is andrew and I started pin trading in may of '09, so I'm still learning the ropes. What I'm really a newbie at is online pin trading. No one really wants to trade with me because I don't have any referrals to my name, but how am I supposed to get any if no one wants to trade? I'm sure no one here remembers me, but I was around in 2006 but due to life changes, I sold my pin collection and spent 3 years crying about it. Well, I want to get back into pin trading but must tread lightly as my cash flow is not what it used to be. However I am here and glad to be back. And if anyone remembers me...wow, I'm impressed!

Help adding an "icon"

I've been trying to change the "Mickey Head" that appears to the left of every post I make (I think this is called an icon). I want to ask this question, but don't want to come across as being insensitive.

I just purchased a White Glove pin #63861 Where dreams come true monorail from the dizpins sale boards. I just realized something about it. It is the purple monorail which has been retired along with the pink monorail. I wonder if the fact that these monorails are no longer in service has any effect on the value of this pin and any other pink or purple monorail pins. Now I totally love...

Newbie here... I bought a few trader pins online. Now I need to find out if I need to return them. How can I tell if a pin is a scrapper? I checked on pin pics and some of the pins I received said there are authentic and not authentic pins out there. They look the same. How can I tell?

I finally got some decent trader pins and decided to set up a pinpics id. So here's my question. Is there anywhere on my pinpics trader list to make comments about the pins I have? I ask because I have one of the UK Disney Store Grape Soda badge pins that I'm considering putting up for trade, which seems to be a popular pin. The pin has some scratches on it, which happened before I received the pin. I'd like to make people aware of the scratches upfront, but I don't...

Hi all!
I'm very new to pin trading. I've heard you can find trader pin lots to buy that have a lot of pins for cheap that you can use to trade at the parks, etc. My question is: Is buying these lots a good idea? How do you know if you'll be able to trade them? How can the sellers sell them for so cheap and still make a profit when most pins cost at least 6 bucks?

I'm not a new collector but am wondering if anybody can answer my question. Can you get the Urban and Park #1 Vinylmation mystery packs or do they just start start at #2. I can't find the #1 packs anywhere, but I thought it would be strange if they start at 2. Thank you for any answers I really appreciate it, at the moment I am totally addictied to mystery pins .

Does anyone NOT have a HG pin? Granted, I've only been really into pins for about 8 months, so maybe I just haven't found it yet. There are lots of pins that I really like, but so far I haven't seen a pin that I just really HAVE to have. Maybe because I primarily collect Halloween pins and that's a pretty small subset compared to, say, Stitch pins. If anyone else doesn't have an HG please comment cause I feel kind of weird without one.

Hi. I'm pretty new to pin collecting and have a few questions on making fair trades. I was wondering how every evaluated the value of the pins. More to the point I got the trick or treat box and found a stitch (73187) with my beginners luck and I wanted to not make any rookie mistakes with it like trade for to little or ask for to much. I just haven't been doing this long enough to get a good feel for it. I have a few trade offers already and just don't know what to do! Please...

Whew! I just found this site and decided to join. We just returned from our 2nd Disney vacation. We have 5 lanyards - One from our trip in 2004. Four from our trip this year. I definately have a few questions to pose on the 'is this a real pin" forum, but probably won't get around to it tonight!! It was very disheartening to read about all the scrapper pins. And looking back to our recent trip, I remember thinking "That pin doesn't look just right". Now I know why!...

Hi. I am new to this board, but a lifelong Disney fan (and former college prgram cast member many moons ago). I am a mom and heading to the Magic Kingdom in a few weeks with my two children and thought that it might be a nice tradition to introduce them to Disney pin collecting. Granted they are 2 & 3, but I figured I would get them each a lanyard and a few pins each for this trip. We live in Florida and so I expect that we will be visting Disney World at least 3 times or more...
